Toronto Abyssinia FC officially launched
Abyssinia Toronto FC has officially launched in Toronto. During the ceremony, Founder and Coach Duressa Shubisa shared that the club was created to support young football talents of Ethiopian and Eritrean descent living in the Greater Toronto Area. The goal is to help them develop their skills, compete in tournaments, and pursue opportunities to advance their football careers—all while proudly representing their communities. The founding players, mostly teenagers and young adults in their early 20s, expressed their gratitude to Duressa for his dedication and hard work in uplifting the community. They pledged to give their all to realize the club’s vision. The team is set to compete in the 2025 Canada African Cup of Nations.
